Looks like I’m not the only one giving a one star review, this company sucks, they take your money and they don’t have any customer service whatsoever, stay as far away from them as you possibly can! They send me emails with articles I want to read but I can’t click on them and no one will help you, I couldn’t be more disgusted with this company than I am‼️

This company doesn't communicate with its subscribers when favored coverage is pulled. I emailed a suggestion to them about how to handle things better and asked for updates for our fanbase and they have not replied to date. I've been a loyal subscriber for years, now I don't have the content for which I subscribed. No communication. No assurances of improved coverage. They took away the good and left our fan base with nothing. Shame.

Like many others, the Athletic changed me $67.00, with out my consent. Customer Service is non existent, and you can't talk with anyone about billing issues. Stay away from the athletic.

They disabled my ability to make comments without warning despite breaking none of their rules. Horrible, horrible site and they will charge you forever unless you cancel your credit card. Stay away!!!

Took my money without my consent. I opened a complaint and they closed it without answering my question. Seems like I'm not the only one to have this issue.
They operate like thieves.

Simply put, i have been charged for a subscription i cancelled. I have sent multiple emails and never received a reply. I never thought i would say this about a subscription service, but i am now pursuing legal options. So appalled by the *non existent* customer service.

Don't sign up to the "free" trial. It is a scam they will charge your card that you sign up with. I signed up to the free trial and saw that they were going to take money out of my account and cancelled on the same day....they still charged me. This is a very basic website with very basic coverage they are stealing a living. Do not fall for it and if you do report them don't let them keep getting away with it. Its obvious they know they are average so have to use these underhanded tactics. Oh and the best part since I cancelled my subscription but was charged anyway I cannot view their content even though I payed to. Scam!

Terrible company, don't get lured in by their offers. The content is below average. They don't issue refunds, even if you cancel before it is supposed to renew. They also don't send reminders of renewals upcoming. Horrible company, don't bother.

I signed up for a 3 month free trial. When I noticed that I wasn’t really taken by the content, approximately one month, I cancelled my subscription and thought all was good. A month later I noticed that I had been charged $59 and it had not been credited back. When I emailed them, they said they can’t/won’t credit it back, with no reason given; just a pleasant PFO reply. The Athletic’s business model is FRAUD. Please beware and pass the message along. Unfortunately, the only thing one can do if you run into an issue is email. As much as I enjoy certain aspects of the internet, I won’t be dealing with any company that doesn’t have a phone number for customer service. Based on my and many others experience, The Athletic is a company that preys on sports fans by offering free trials and subscription discounts and charging the customer whatever they want. Absolute Scam!

Took money for yearly sub even though I had cancelled! Awaiting response and will be taking it up with bank should they not give a full refund. Theft, plain and simple. Avoid at all costs

Mentioned a 30 day free trial.. I signed up, turns out it was 7, have just been charged for a full years membership. For content that is available all over the internet.
